We use a quasiclassical approximation in the method of hyperspherical functions for calculating the spectra of some 6q, 9q, and 12q states in the nonrelativistic quark model. We show that the quasiclassical approximation leads to very precise predictions (better than 0.1%) for the masses of the multiquark states. The large difference in the predictions for the masses of N-quark levels in the nonrelativistic quark model and in the bag model (400 MeV for 6q, 800 MeV for 9q, and 1400 MeV for 12q) is due to the more rapid increase of the potential energy in the nonrelativistic quark model and can apparently be remedied by cutting off the confining potential at small distances.
