Beam depolarization in the magnetic field of a synchrotron

The effect of betatron and synchrotron oscillations on the motion of the particle spin in the magnetic field of a synchrotron is studied. The first-approximation width of the spin resonances in the unperturbed and perturbed magnetic fields is given. A numerical calculation yields an estimate of the degree of beam depolarization after the main resonances are crossed during acceleration.
