The forms of relativistic spin equations given by various authors are examined, their derivations and notations are unified, and the correlations between these diverse forms are interpreted and exhibited, The depolarizing resonances between the oscillating magnetic field and the spin precession experienced by a polarized beam of particles being accelerated in a synchrotron are also studied. The calculation is made in the rest-frame of the particle. In addition to the main vertical guide magnetic field effects, the particles experience a small oscillating horizontal magnetic field caused by the betatron osctllations. Standard technique used ln treating magnetic reaonance problems can then be applied with the small oscillating horizontal field considered as the applied r-f for inducing resonant transitions. Methods of suppressing the effects of these resonances are discussed. (auth)
