High performance sulfonate thickened lubricating grease

A new technology sulfonate thickened lubricating grease is described which provides properties unobtainable from ordinary Calcium complex, Aluminum complex, Lithium and Lithium complex greases. A brief history of sulfonate thickened grease processes is presented followed by a discussion of the new technology. Data is presented showing this new modified overbased sulfonate grease to be truly multipurpose, being characterized by exceptional mechanical stability, very high load carrying properties, excellent thermal stability and particularly excellent resistance to water and corrosion.
