Kinematic structure of helicity amplitudes in high-energy nucleon-nucleon scattering

So-called dynamic amplitudes for nucleon-nucleon scattering are introduced on the basis of an analysis of the kinematic structure of the helicity amplitudes. This approach takes into account the consequences of conservation of the projection of angular momentum both in the direct channel and in the annihilation channel. The dynamic amplitudes are free of kinematic singularities and have identical dimensions. It is proposed on the basis of heuristic considerations that in the high-energy region and at large scattering angles the dynamic amplitudes depend only weakly on the helicity. A kinematic hierarchy is obtained: a series of restrictions for the helicity amplitudes in the form of inequalities.
