A procedure for making normal and deuterated polyethylene foils with a thickness of 0.02 to 2 ..mu..m by the film casting method is described. The thickness of the foils is controlled by the concentration and temperature of the solution, and the quality is determined by the uniformity of temperature and rate of solution drainage.
