Sorption properties of granulated peat

Journal Article · · Solid Fuel Chem. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:5211321
The physicotechnical properties (bulk density, porosity (void content of a bed), abradability, tendency to disintegrate) of peat granulated by the rolling method have been studied. The chemical stability of the granules to water being filtered and their sorption capacity with respect to model and real sewage containing copper and nickel ions in amounts of up to 20 mg/l has been determined. The possibility has been shown of using granulated peat for purifying wastewaters.
