  2. Enviropower Inc., Tampere (Finland)
Enviropower Inc. is actively involved in the development of IGCC process. Enviropower`s IGCC concept incorporates pressurized fluidized bed gasification of different solid fuels, applying air-blown gasification and hot gas clean-up. As a part of Clean Coal 4-program in 1992, Tampella`s IGCC technology was chosen by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) to be demonstrated in the USA. Currently, an IGCC demonstration plant to be built in Finland is being designed by Enviropower Inc. to use biomass and coal. The European Union has recently granted funds for the two major Danish utilities to build a small biomass IGCC in Denmark based on Enviropower`s biomass gasification technology. Enviropower`s gasification pilot plant is located in Central Finland. The pilot plant has the capability of gasifying coal biomass and different waste materials. It also includes the process for hot gas clean-up including hot gas destination and a particulate removal system using ceramic candle filters.
