Production of cumulative protons in neutrino-nucleus interactions

The properties of production of cumulative protons in interactions of neutrinos and antineutrinos with freon nuclei are experimentally investigated with the SKAT bubble chamber. The results are compared with cascade-model calculations. It is shown that cumulative-proton production processes are mainly secondary intranuclear rescattering effects rather than primary interactions. An important factor in the explanation of the experimental results is allowance for two-nucleon absorption of slow pions in a nucleus.
