Surface barrier spectrometers for calibration of fast neutrons in MeV range. [1 to 4 MeV]

At present there are very few methods available for calibrating fast neutrons in the MeV range. In the present paper methods employing /sup 6/Li sandwich and proton recoil spectrometers using surface barrier detectors for calibration of neutron energies and fluxes are described. The results obtained with monoenergetic neutron sources in the energy range of 1 to 4 MeV are given. The accuracies for energy and flux calibrations are also discussed. 5 figures.
