Investigation of an industrial process of rectifying low-sulfur coal tar
Results of investigations conducted with a view to determining the composition of low-sulfur coal tar and the actual characteristics of the process of rectifying it are presented. Tar rectification at the shop is conducted in two single-column pipe units which function continuously. The fractions produced upon the rectification of the tar are discharged from the column, from the following plates (counting the plates in the column from the top downwards): the light fraction from the 54th, the phenol from the 44th, the naphthalene from the 26th, the wash oil and anthracene I fractions from the 6th and 8th plates (from the first and second units, respectively); the anthracene II fraction is removed from the bottom of the column. The technological (average weekly) indices for the tar rectification process are presented.
