OSTI ID:5193528
The Minimum Energy Dwelling (MED) is a demonstration project; its goal is to reduce energy consumption in a typical home by at least 50 percent and simultaneously encourage the American building industry to adopt MED's energy-saving features. MED uses available energy-saving building techniques and materials, along with advanced household appliances and solar/natural gas central space heating, cooling, and water heating. An important part of the MED project is to provide information on ways to save energy in building design and construction, site selection, and building materials. (MCW)
