Dynamics of stimulated emission from an electron-beam-controlled CO/sub 2/ laser with a plasma mirror

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
An investigation was made of the dynamics of the stimulated emission from an electron-beam-controlled CO/sub 2/ laser with a plasma mirror. Two limiting cases were considered: stimulated emission of a single pulse of approx.100 nsec duration (laser radiation energy up to approx.250 J) and stimulated emission of a train of nanosecond pulses (power up to approx.20 GW). The operation of the laser was modeled numerically.
