Distribution of polychlorinated biphenyl congeners in human milk and blood during lactation

The polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congener distribution in human milk has been reported by several investigators. Although variations in congener distribution of human milk could be ascribed to differences in environmental contaminants or even extraction techniques, the possibility exists that congener distribution changes during lactation. This possibility was investigated by determining both breast milk and maternal blood PCB congeners of a nursing mother, whose blood and milk PCB levels were earlier reported.
