Effect of sulfur on the thermal DeNO/SUB/x process

A chemical model which describes the thermal DeNO/SUB/x process, in which ammonia is added to combustion flue gases, is extended to investigate the effects of SO/SUB/x on the efficiency of nitric oxide reduction. In the presence of 1000 ppM SO/SUB/x, the optimum temperature for reduction is raised by 30-50 K; above this temperature the efficiency of removal is slightly improved.
