Elastic and inelastic scattering of /sup 16/O from /sup 59/Co and /sup 64/ /sup 66/ /sup 68/Zn
Measured elastic and inelastic angular distributions are reported for the scattering of /sup 16/O by /sup 59/Co and /sup 64/ /sup 66/ /sup 68/Zn isotopes at bombarding energies that ranged from 36 MeV to 60 MeV. In addition to conventional optical model analyses of the elastic scattering data which contribute to the systematics of /sup 16/O scattering from A approx. 60 nuclei, the present work contains analyses which differ from previous /sup 16/O scattering studies in three respects. First, the elastic data are analyzed with a microscopic double-folding real potential model with two options for the imaginary potential: a double-folded or a Woods-Saxon form factor. Second, the inelastic scattering data obtained for the Zn targets are analyzed with a microscopic double-folding G-matrix distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) model for which there are no free parameters. Third, in the analyses of the elastic scattering data, the option to add an l-dependent or an l-independent imaginary potential to account for the long-range Coulomb excitation effects is incorporated in the potential models. These potential model modifications yield a total reaction cross section which is compared with the total reaction cross section obtained with a model-independent sum-of-differences (SOD) method.
