{sup 16}O+{sup 16}O elastic scattering in an {alpha}-folding model

An {alpha} folding potential for the {sup 16}O+{sup 16}O system is presented based on an {alpha}-particle model of the nucleus {sup 16}O. The angular distributions of the {sup 16}O+{sup 16}O elastic scattering at incident energies ranging from 75 to 350 MeV have been calculated by using the {alpha} folding potential with an imaginary potential of standard Woods-Saxon type. The main features of the measured angular distributions can be satisfactorily described.
