Compensated count rate circuit for portable Geiger-Mueller survey meter

A count rate circuit is described that better compensates for counting losses due to detector dead time than previously used techniques in Geiger--Mueller survey meters. Bench tests show the new design response to be within 1% of the ideal response even up to counting losses of 50%.
