Newsprint manufacturers announce recycling studies

Major newsprint manufactures have undertaken individual studies to determine the feasibility of producing more newsprint with recycled fiber content. These studies coincide with reports that newspaper publishers are considering expanded uses of recycled newsprint in response to the solid waste challenge. Newsprint manufacturers are doing these studies at their mill locations of the availability, cost, consumer acceptability and public cooperation associated with the source separation, collection, and deinking of old newspapers.
