How to reduce the cointercalation of propylene carbonate in Li /SUB x/ ZrS/sub 2/ and other layered compounds

Cointercalation of propylene carbonate (PC) into layered materials intercalated with lithium can b reduced with concentrated electrolytes. We show electrochemical and x-ray diffraction evidence for this reduction in Li/ZrS/sub 2/ cells with LiAsF/sub 6//PC electrolyte.
