This paper presents the results of one division of a recently completed project at Georgia Tech to stimulate interest in the use of wood as a fuel by nonforest related industrial plants in Georgia. The work reported on consists of fourteen wood energy feasibility studies which were chosen to provide a broad base of information. Size equivalents ranged from 2,700 to 75,000 lbs of steam per hour. Eight of the studies involved the installation of totally new systems, while the other six studies concerned the conversion to wood firing of existing equipment.
