This article describes a major educational effect by the American Forestry Association to help alleviate the global warming trend through reforestation of urban areas. They estimate that filling 100 million urban energy tree spaces could result in a savings of 40 billion kilowatt-hours of energy and cut as much as 18 million tons of US carbon dioxide produced each year.
