The article describes an ultra-high frequency instrument for measuring the exposure dose rate of high-intensity pulsed x rays and gamma rays. The error made in measurements of the instantaneous dose is less than or equal to 20% in the range 2.10/sup 8/-1.10/sup 11/ R/sec at radiation pulse lengths >50 nsec and does not depend upon the radiation spectrum in the photon energy range 0.1-3 MeV.
