A simulation program, PCMSOL-1, for a passive solar structure is described. PCMSOL-1 is a finite difference computer simulation of a one room direct gain building that contains phase change materials (PCMs) in panels which may be located on any interior surface. The description of the program is in two parts. The first is devoted to the theory and basic relations used in the code. A complete listing, documentation, and sample output, are given in the second part.
