Field testing of the T-180/210-130 district heating turbine at Vilnius Power Plant 3, Lithuania. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:50935
The purpose of this project was to demonstrate the unique technical features and performance of an advanced Russian 180-MW district heating turbine. The major task was to test the 180-MW district heating turbine at Vilnius Power Plant 3, Lithuania, with reference to the rotating grid-type diaphragms installed in the low pressure turbine sections to permit efficient extraction of steam for district heating. The field tests demonstrated that the turbine can be operated with a minimum cooling steam leakage rate through the grid-type diaphragms of about 1.5% of the nominal main steam flow rate.
