Determination of the sign of the {gamma}/{gamma}{prime}-misfit in nickel-base superalloys by use of spectral impure Cu(Cr) radiation

A simple method to determine the {gamma}/{gamma}{prime}-misfit sign in nickel-base superalloys by use of spectral impure Cu(Cr) radiation was suggested. It was found that because of the segregation the local misfit in a superalloy may change the sign depending on position in the superalloy`s dendritic structure. The mixed X-ray radiation may be also useful for some other applications, for example, when the number of available reflections is not sufficient and for simultaneous X-ray analysis at different penetration depths. It would be interesting to apply multielement tubes optimized for special tasks.
