A new facility will use the chemical properties of one industrial waste product to detoxify another. The facility, located in Newark, N.J., will be operated by Earthline Co., a subsidiary of SCA Services Inc. (Boston, Mass.), and will also recover ''sizeable'' quantities of valuable chemicals and petroleum products. The facility will handle 100,000 gal/day of industrial wastes initially. It has the approval of the various environmental agencies, and is the largest of its kind in the U.S. The chemicals recovered include organics, inorganics, various acids and bases, and others. What cannot be recovered will be neutralized and properly disposed of.
