Improving the operating conditions for heating fittings in underjet coke ovens

Journal Article · · Coke and Chemistry USSR
OSTI ID:508381
The outstanding feature of underjet coke ovens is the scope for more accurately, rapidly and conveniently regulating the supplies of fuel gas and air to the heating wall flues. The gas and air distribution regulators are located in the lower tunnel under the battery, together with the manifolds through which decarbonizing air is allowed into the gas conduits. The temperature conditions in the lower tunnel, the direction of the air streams and the degree of air pollution are largely determined by the constancy of the specified rate of supplying fuel gas to the flues and heating walls. 2 tabs.
