This bill would provide for the increased use by the Federal government of alternative fuel vehicles. Alternative fuels considered are natural gas, methanol, ethanol, alcohols, mixtures containing 85 percent alcohol, liquid petroleum gas, hydrogen, and electricity. Sections of the bill describe fleet acquisition requirements, fuel economy calculations, availability to the public, vehicle costs, and a Department of Defense study of the feasibility of increasing the use of alternative fuel vehicles operated by this department.
