Ring Power Corporation in Jacksonville, Florida has designed a cost effective cogeneration facility. Specifications for the cogeneration facility include three Caterpillar G379 TA dual-fuel propane or natural gas fired engines driving three 325 KW, 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 Hertz generators. The absorption chiller is a Trane 150-ton single stage heat absorption type, operating off 15 psi steam and providing chilled water. Also included are three Vaporphase vertical type heat recovery boilers, capable of providing 1500 lbs. of steam per hour. Perhaps the newest and brightest prospect for cogeneration application is the semiconductor industry.
