For the combined heat and power (CHP) scheme at their Orlando, Florida, facility. Air Products ordered an ABB GT11N1 gas turbine, configured in a single-shaft arrangement with an ABB VAX steam turbine and a Brush generator, to supply process steam for an absorption chiller and power to the local utility. The CHP unit is rated 125 MW at 22[degree]C and 60% relative humidity. Power sales contracts with Florida utilities cover 114.5 MW of base-load output, and deliveries of extra power at peak times as available. The cogeneration plant supplies 15 t/h of steam at 1.4 bars to an absorption chiller located on the power plant site, to chill cooling water for an existing Air Products air separation plant located adjacent to the cogeneration site. 5 figs.
