Energy management assistance for small and medium-size manufacturers. A first-phase evaluation of the 1985-1986 EADC program

Energy Analysis and Diagnostic Centers (EADCs) have been providing technological energy assistance to small and medium-size manufacturers since 1976 under a program managed by University City Science Center (UCSC) and sponsored by the US Department of Energy. To evaluate how effectively the EADCs have assisted manufacturers to conserve energy and reduct its cost, the staff of UCSC's Center for Energy Management and Industrial Technology (CEMIT) visit and interview a large sample of the manufacturers served by the program. This report presents the results of such interviews with 94 manufacturers served during the first half of the 1985-86 program period.
