The density and surface tension of ternary melts of the system CaCl/sub 2/ - UCl/sub 3/ - UCl/sub 4/ were studied for four polythermal profiles passing through the apex of the concentration triangle corresponding to calcium chloride and to the opposite side. Results were stated over a wide range of temperatures and concentrations. The density and surface tension of the melts were studied by the method of maximum pressure in a bubble of argon gas. The dependence of the density on the composition of binary and ternary melts for 1023/sup 0/K was given. The value of the magnitudes of the surface tensions of the profiles was in the region bounded by the isotherms of the binary systems. 6 figures, 1 table.
