Raman and infrared spectra of BF/sub 3/ complexes with diethyl ether and tetrahydrofuran, and the isotopic exchange of these complexes with BF/sub 3/

The Raman and infrared spectra of BF/sub 3/.diethyl ether and BF/sub 3/.tetrahydrofuran were recorded for both the B/sup 10/ and B/sup 11/ compounds. The spectra were compared to that of BF/sub 3/.dimethyl ether and tentative assignments of the skeletal vibrations were made. The isotopic data were used to calculate theoretical equilibrium constants for isotopic exchange between the complexes and BF/sub 3/. The calculated values are slightly higher but compare quite well with published values of experimentally determined separation factors.
