It is shown that rescattering corrections to {gamma}{ital p}{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}p through the sequence {gamma}{ital p}{r arrow}{pi}{sup +}n{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}p, at threshold, and to {gamma}{ital n}{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}n through the sequence {gamma}{ital n}{r arrow}{pi}{sup {minus}}p{r arrow}{pi}{sup 0}n, are large. The cusps at {pi}{sup +}n and {pi}{sup {minus}}p thresholds, {ital k}{sub {ital L}}=151.5 and 148.5 MeV, respectively, are inverted. It is also argued that an explanation of the discrepancy between experiment and theory through a {Sigma}-like term is, most likely, erroneous.
