The potentiodynamic technique was used to study the adsorption of atomic hydrogen and of Cu adatoms on the (100), (110), and (111) face of Rh single crystals. Experimental data show that there are certain parallels between the adsorption behavior of atomic hydrogen and that of Cu adatoms on poly- and single-crystalline Rh surfaces. By studying the adsorption behavior of copper adatoms during potentiodynamic investigations one can reveal the energetic fine structure of polycrystalline rhodium surfaces which indicates that such studies are promising in the development of electrochemical techniques of surface analysis.
