Estimate of the spatial density of Seyfert galaxies

The spatial density of Seyfert galaxies is determined from 156 objects in the range of absolute magnitudes -17/sup m/ to -23/sup m/. In a comparison with the spatial density of field galaxies, the percentage content of Seyfert galaxies relative to normal ones is calculated as a function of absolute stellar magnitude.
