Magnetic spectrometer with helium streamer chamber for measurement of pion scattering at 180$sup 0$ (in Russian)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4938571
Experimental equipment for studying pion scattering on nuclei at large angles is described. The equipment was used in the pion beam experiments at the National Laboratory of Frascati, Italy. The magnetic spectrometer consists of a streamer chamber (filled with helium at atm. pressure) intended for identification of scattering events. The required localization and sufficient brightness of tracks is achieved without using the blumline'' system. The accuracy of particle momentum measurement obtained with the spectrnmetery is compared with the estimate performed by the Monte Carlo method. (auth)
