Streamer discharges in streamer chambers, transverse lasers, and laser track chambers

Conference ·
OSTI ID:4350937
In streamer chamber technology. Streamer growth in neon-helium and pure helium was studied in the following stages: avalanche, cylindrical streamer, brush discharge, and plate-to-plate discharge. Applications to bright and dark regions on streamers, resolution, propagation velocity, voluane ionization, and transverse lasers are discussed. An unsuccessful search for particle tracks made visible by a TEA CO/sub 2/ laser is reported. (auth)
