Analysis of feed pump system: improvements (in Danish)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4937869

An analysis of alternative system designs aiming at an econotically optimal solution requires quantitative evaluation of the relevant reliability measures of the individual systems. To get at impression of the practical problems connected with such aralyses, a detailed analysis of a boiler feed pump system (three 80% pumps) in a 250 MW power platt is made. (n economic comparison was made between this system atd an alternative system (two 100% pumps) taking the reliability of the individual systems into account. Of the basis of available data the analysis shows that from an economic point of view there is no significant dffference between the two systems. In relation to the problem that concerns forced power reduction (due to system failure) both systems have a very high reliability, but they do not in this respect represent economically optimal solutions.
