The chemical behavior of Zr/sup */ and Y/sup */ atoms formed by irradiating the suspensions of Zr and Nb metal powders in acetylacetone, benzoylacetone, trifluoroacetylacetone, and hexafluoroacetylacetone by 660-MeV proto6 were studied. The yield of labelled beta-diketonate increased in progression from non-fluorinated to fluorinated compounds. The formation of the chemical forms of radioactive atoms as a function of the mechanism of their passage from the irradiated metal to beta-diketone solution is discussed. (auth)
