Measurements of water content of steam and drainage within the wet steam regime of the turbine. Research report No. 16 (in German)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4937156
Measurements of drainage and water content of steam are presented in order to gain some information on the expansion conditions within the main turbine of the N.S. Otto Hahn.'' Due to the low superheating, expansion occurs already after the first two to three stages in the wet steam regime, and as the content of water increasing during expansion reduces the efficiency of the turbine, the water has to be removed through appropriate drainage devices in order to prevent erosion damage to the turbine blading due to drop formation. The measured data are used to determine whether and to what extent the constructional design of the turbine meets the requirements of wet steam separation. (GE)
