LAYOUT AND CONSTRUCTION OF SATURATED STEAM TURBINES (in German)

Low temperatures in pressurized water reactors are the reasons that in such plants saturated steam turbines are usually installed. The possibility of producing superheated steam in reactor plants is critically examined. The decrease of efficiency by saturated steam, the kind of turbine construction, the expansion in the wet steam sphere, and the separation of water are discussed. For pressures between 10 and 50 kg/cm/sup 2/ and for different steam flows the efficiencies are compared. Also the increase of efficiency by lowering the pressure at constant temperatures (coming into the sphere of superheated steam) are examined. Finally, some aspects about construction of saturated steam turbines are shown. (auth)
