Thesis. Submitted to Universite Scientifique et Medicale de Grenoble (France). The basic elements for a rotating machine submerged in cryogenic fluid were studied. The bearing rolling elements are the angular contact type and have bonze-filled Teflon separators. The electric motor is 3-phase, asynchronous, squirrel-cage. The output power is 500 W at 300 deg K and 1200 W at 20 deg K. For these temperatures the iron losses increase for 20%, but the efficiency reaches 90%. A pump may be built with these specifications. The characteristics are given for liquid hydrogen. Other materials may be used in a closed loop or a transfer line. (tr-auth)
