Choice of the Tokomak line, and the physical problems of confined toroidal plasmas (in French)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4934354
From congress on the centenary of the French Physics Society; Vittel, France (28 May 1973). The tokamak device is compared to other lines of research in controlled fusion, and the arguments in favor of the choice of the Tokamak are discussed. The physical problems concerning toroidal plasmas are treated, in particular, the motion of charged particles, the transport coefficients due to collisions between particles, the instabilities of the plasma, and the anomalous transport by convection and turbulence.
