The assembly of a recirculating argon atmosphere drd- box for the determination of the solubility of PuF/sub 3/ and the apparatus used for the deterinination of the solubility of CeF/sub 3/ and PuF/sub 3/ are described. The solubility of CeF/sub 3/ has been determened in a ternarymixture of LiF--BeF/sub 2/--ThF/sub 4/ (66.5, 19, 14.5 m/o) in the temperature range 550--800 deg C as a stand-in for PuF/sub 3/. The solubility values and the heat of solution agree reasonably' well with the values reported by ORNL for similar salt compositions. (auth)
