This paper solves the Navier-Stokes equations for the flow of a lubricating oil through a slider bearing. Results for a typical bearing demonstrate how the friction force, coefficient of friction, load and velocity distribution varies as the Reynolds number increases. No basic assumptions have been made and no turbulence models used.
