A comparison between flow regime observation and linear stability analysis results is performed. The flow regime observation is enumerated and is plotted in a three dimensional map with the gas and liquid flow rates as the two first coordinates. These two maps are compared and results show the possibility of using the neutral wavenumber to differentiate between slug and annular flow as well as bubbly flow. Results are not satisfactory for annular flow with entrainment.
