GAS COOLED NUCLEAR REACTOR
For a gas cooled nuclear reactor equipment is provided for conveying the fuel elements from a container situated outside the reactor vessel into the reactor channels. This equipment comprises a chute extending from the wall of the reactor pressure vessel, and a flexible tubular conduit extending from the lower end of the said chute and reaching into the space inside the vessel above the reactor core. The lower end of the tubular conduit can be tightly joined with the end of a selected reactor channel. The gas flow in the conduit is controlled and may pass into the reactor vessel by an opening near the upper end of the conduit. Suitably, the conduit is formed by several tubular sections joined together by bellows. (NPO)
