S>Preliminary studies of the shapes of ionization efficiency curves of multiply-charged Kr and Xe ions were made and used to derive ionization potentials and electronic transition probabilities. The color and free radicals formed in the decomposition of some condensed organic solids by charged particle bombardment were studied. Electron impact studies were made on cyano-compounds, substituted ethylene oxides, multi-ring heterocyclics, trifluoroethanol, propylene sulfide, isocyanates, isothiocyanates, organometallic compounds, and s ulfur compounds. The C/sup 14/ labeled chemical species produced in the pile neutron irradiation of acetamide and cyanoguanidine were studied. A study was made of the properties of octahedral coordination compounds of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) with ethylenimine. The performance of propane -- argon and propane-- helium mixtures as Geiger-Muller counter gases was studied. (D.L.C.)
